VOLCANO MEDIC 2 — FAQs & Troubleshooting


The patient’s VOLCANO MEDIC 2 automatically switches off after approximately 30 minutes. Is this normal?

Yes.

The VOLCANO MEDIC 2 includes an automatic shutdown after an extended period without user interaction.

This is normal operation.

The patient’s VOLCANO MEDIC 2 displays an ERR message. What should we do?

Please obtain the complete error code, including any number or letter shown.

Do not submit the issue simply as “ERR.”

Some error states may be recoverable through normal restart/reset procedures, while others require manufacturer service.

Please do not ask the patient to open the unit.

The patient’s VOLCANO MEDIC 2 reports an error after becoming very hot. What should we do?

Please advise the patient to:

  1. Switch the device off.
  2. Unplug it from power.
  3. Allow it to cool at room temperature for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Restart and retest once cool.

If the error returns, please send us the complete error code and video evidence for technical assessment.

The patient’s VOLCANO MEDIC 2 does not power on at all. What should we check?

Please ask the patient to check:

  • Wall outlet
  • Power connection
  • Power cord
  • Plug seating
  • Household or building circuit

If external mains power is confirmed but the device remains completely unresponsive, please do not attempt to open or repair the unit.

The case should be escalated for manufacturer service or warranty assessment.

Can the pharmacy, clinic or patient open a VOLCANO MEDIC 2 to investigate an internal fault?

No.

Please do not open or attempt internal repair of the device.

Doing so may create an electrical safety risk and may affect warranty coverage.
